Magic Johnson

Magic Johnson Jr. was born August 14, 1959 in Lansing, Michigan. Is real name is Earvin Johnson. He is a retired basketball player. He played point guard for the Las Angeles Lakers. After winning championships in high school and collage. He was selected 1st overall in the 1979. He won a championship and an NBA finals Most Valuable Player (MVP) award in his rookie season. Won 4 more championships with the Lakers during the 1980's. He retired in 1991 after announcing he had human immunodeficiency virus. Returned in to play in the 1992 All-Star Game. He won the All-Star MVP award.  He then retired again for 4 years, but returned 1996 to play 32 games for the Lakers and retired the 3rd time and final time.

His career achievements include 3 NBA MVP awards, nine NBA final appearances, 12 All-Star games, ten All-NBA first and second nominations. He lead the league in regular-season assists four time, and is NBA's all-time leader in assists per game, with an average of 11. 2. He was a member of the ''Dream Team'', the U.S. basketball team that won the Olympic gold medal in 1992.

He was honored as one of the 50 Greatest basketball players in NBA History in 1996. He got elected to the basketball Hall of Fame in 2002. He was rated greatest NBA point guard of all time by ESPN in 2007.His friendship and rivalry with Boston's Celtics star Larry Bird, whom he faced in 1979 NCAA finals and three NBA finals. Michael J. Jordan was born on Feb. 17 1963. He is now a business man and owns the Charlotte Bobcats.  Michael Jordan is known to be the best basketball player ever to play the game. When Jordan played he was effectively marketed best basketball player in the NBA.
He went to the University of North Carolina and took them to the NCAA championship in 1982 and won. He then got drafted to the Chicago Bulls, then quickly came a star in the NBA. entertaining crowds with is scoring. His leaping abilities illustrated, by performing slam dunks from the free throw line in slam dunk contests, earned him the nickname "AIR JORDAN" and his airness.  He took the Chicago Bulls to the championship in 91, 92, 93, 96, 97, and 1998. During 1993 the new season he retired and played baseball for the Chicago White Sox's. He rejoined in 1995 and played until 1999 and retired. Rejoined back in 2001 and played two more seasons for the Washington Wizards.

Jordan's individual accolades and accomplishments  5 MVP awards, 10 All-NBA first team designations, 9 All-Defensive first team honors, fourteen NBA All-Star Game appearances, 3 All-Star Game MVP awards, ten scoring titles, 3 steal titles, 6 NBA Finals MVP awards, and the 1988 NBA Defensive Player of the Year award. He holds the NBA records for highest career regular season scoring average (30.12 points per game) and highest career playoff scoring average (33.45 points per game). In 1999 he was named the greatest athlete in North America of the 20th century by ESPN, and was second to Babe Ruth on the associated press's list of athletes of the century. He was elected to the basketball hall of fame on April 6, 2009 and was inducted on September 11, 2009.Jordan is also noted product endorsements .  He fueled the success of Nike's  Air Jordan sneakers, were introduced in 1985 and remain popular today. He also starred in movie  Space Jam. He starred has himself.
